Weed In Our Halls
Yes my dear friends, it's weed in school. Fun right?
Actually, it's not really. Marijuana is actually something serious in many schools, especially ours. Weed is probably the biggest drug being sold at our school (a long with many other schools). What does this mean? This means that the board of education try so hard to prevent drug usage, when it's being sold right on their own grounds. School is the easiest place for people to buy drugs; why? Because our students are the drug dealers! School provides a great market for drugs; all the niners trying to get their hands on anything cool, and all the kids who are already so used to smoking it that it's become a habit. The school socializes us; it's been in our lives for years and will continue to be in our lives (for most of us anyways) for another lump some of years as well. So what better place to sell drugs and make some nice cash then a school filled with hundreds of people? If you look at it, it's a pretty smart idea. Most of our dealers know their "clients" from school anyways, so why not deal at school? Why? Because if you get caught you're screwed. If it's not your first offence with selling guess where you're going? The slammer. You're most likely gonna be suspended or expelled from school, which is terrible for your academics. I mean, you chose drugs, got caught, and now it's on your record. You're academically screwed.
Stats On Weed And School Kids
But that's just my personal demons with the school borad. what we're talking about here is how marijuana effects marks in high schoolers. Honestly, it's just like you would think. Kids who smoke and drink and do all those crazy things are usually the kids to get D's and F's in school. They're skipping classes to go light their blunt while course concepts are being taught. How do they get notes? They borrow from their friends in the class. The teacher yells at them for missing so much classes, that eventually the kids just stop showing up. And how do they do on their exam? They pass if they're lucky. Now i'm not saying this is everyone who smokes weed; I'm saying this as a general statement. However, just like i know and you know, the more time you spend focusing on something other than school, you're grades will drop. But did you know the numbers? The stats behind these theories of mine? That 9-12 graders who get D's and F's are twice as likely to drink, but 5 times as likely to smoke weed? 5 times??! Don't believe me? See for yourself.
See? Told you. It's just proven that kids who get bad grades are usually the ones who smoke weed and slack off.
Intoxicated Driving With Teens
Intoxicated driving is something that causes accidents all over the world; usually, we hear the term "drunk driving" more often than anything else, but there is another; a term called "Drug Driving". Drug driving is driving while under the influence of a drug; be it prescription medicine, cocaine, or weed. Why is this so fatal? Because most people don't even realize that it will impare their driving. Teens who smoke just one or two blunts think "oh, I'm not that high I'll be fine to drive" end up being involved in serious car accidents. Why? Because drugs put you under the influence; sometimes, even if you just smoked a tiny little bit, it can still impare you enough to slow your reaction time and cause a serious accident. What's even worse about all this (it gets WORSE?) is that most of the people who "Drug Drive" are high school students. You see, we're smart enough to know not to drink and drive, so why can't we be smart enough to know not to blaze up and drive? Did you know that among teen drivers killed in a moter vehicle accident, 1 in 8 teens had weed in their system? THAT'S CRAZY! Why I brought this up in the school post is because it's all about us teens; and where do teens socialize most? School. In a study conducted by Monitoring the Future (Nation's largest survey of drugs among teens) 1 in 8 high school seniors reported that in 2 weeks prior to taking this survey they drove after smoking marijuana. That's the same stats as the people who get killed in an accident caused by drug driving!
^See? I'm not lying!
